31 days of powerful prayer. Day 5: When to pray?

, , No Comments
In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 it's is written that we are to pray continually.
So what does it mean? That you can't do anything else-just pray?
No it doesn't mean that you can't do anything else but it means
that you are always in an attitude of prayer.

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray.
Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.
-James 5:13-14
So when you have a problem, PRAY.
When you have a need, PRAY.
When someone hurts your feelings, PRAY.
When you sick, PRAY.
When someone you love is suffering, PRAY.
When you don't know what to do, PRAY.

In the Bible we can read that Jesus spent the night praying to God:

One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.
 -Luke 6:12

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
-Luke 18:1

In the Matthew 6:9 it says:
This, then, is how you should pray...

It doesn't say if you pray...
So we are to pray regularly, constantly, always!

Jesus prayed early in the morning:
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
-Mark 1:35

To pray immediately when you are awake is surely the best way to start your day but you can also have your prayer time in the afternoon or whenever it suits you best. The important thing is to find a specific time in your day that is dedicated to prayer and then during the rest of the day keep the attitude of prayer.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
-Ephesians 6:18

Prayer:Heavenly  Father, keep me abiding and walking in the presence of Your glory, so that my prayer may be the spontaneous expression of my life with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
